Journal of Business, Social, Management, and Technology (J-BSMTech) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes research in the fields of business, social sciences, management, and technology. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is adapted from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential contribution to the development of a credible and respected body of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions supporting them. Peer-reviewed articles uphold and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to establish standards of ethical conduct for all parties involved in publishing, namely authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
The publisher of J-BSMTech is committed to ensuring that all stages of the publication process are conducted ethically and professionally. Editorial decisions are independent and are not influenced by commercial interests, advertising, sponsorship, or other external pressures.
The editor is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published. Decisions are based on the manuscript’s originality, significance, clarity, relevance to the journal’s scope, and scientific contribution. Editors may consult reviewers and editorial board members in making publication decisions.
Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual and academic merit without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, ethnicity, political philosophy, or institutional affiliation.
Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information regarding manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and publisher as appropriate.
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor’s own research without the written consent of the author.
Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. All manuscripts undergo a peer-review process by at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

Peer review assists editors in making publication decisions and helps authors improve manuscript quality.
Reviewers who feel unqualified or unable to review a manuscript promptly should notify the editor immediately.
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
Reviews should be objective and constructive. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
Reviewers should identify relevant published works not cited by the authors and report any substantial similarity or overlap with other publications.
Information obtained during peer review must remain confidential and not be used for personal advantage.
Authors should present accurate, original, and objective research findings. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable.
Authors may be required to provide raw data for editorial review and should retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Proper citation and acknowledgment must be given when using the work of others.
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
All influential sources used in the research must be properly cited.
Authorship should be limited to individuals who made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.
Authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of their work.
Authors must promptly notify the editor if significant errors are discovered after publication and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.
All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening using plagiarism detection software before entering the review process. Manuscripts with significant plagiarism or similarity will be rejected immediately.
